I would like to ask about your experience regarding the preparation of cargo holds before loading.
Very often the vessel receives detailed instructions from the shipper, charterer, or agent concerning the required condition of the cargo holds.
Increasingly, these requirements are as strict as those for grain, even for cargoes that normally would not demand such a high standard. Sometimes there are even requests to repaint the holds.
However, during inspections in port, it frequently happens that the surveyor does not actually enter the hold.
Instead, they only take a quick look from the top and confirm that everything is acceptable.
What are your experiences or opinions on this matter?
