Hi,
When you get on a vessel, please take 'a Mobile Satellite Phone and a Portable GPS'.
During Distress, you can use it.
It's much better than any GMDSS equipment.
Just say "Hi mom, I am taking a short unexpected break, just send me my own coast guard rescue airplane service, and my position is Lat. ... Log. ..."
