Multiple sources reported that a 500gt tanker MT Awang Bazao grounded in Bintan Sea, Riau Islands.
The Mongolian-flagged vessel struck coral reef in the Malang Berdaun area, 1.5 miles from the mainland, while en route to Singapore. Rough weather conditions allegedly pulled the ship off course.
The ship's crew members are reported to be uninjured, and the vessel is not leaking.
